Gonzalo Díaz Yerro was born in Madrid and got a degree in Composition (with specialization in Media and Applied Music) at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Spain).
Gonzalo has composed music for features, documentaries, short films, video games, musical theatre, TV-signations, cartoon serie, art videos, music library projects and composed and arranged music for over 50 TV spots (CocaCola, Peugeot, Kellogs, McDonalds, Ford, Anki-Cozmo, etc.).
As a film music composer Gonzalo has worked for directors like Carlos Baena (Pixar, Paramount, Artella), Bobby Beck (Pixar, Animation Mentor, Artella), Dany Campos, Diana Nava, Chedey Reyes, etc.
He has also signed a publishing agreement for several works with the worldwide renowned Music Sales Group.
As a concert music composer his works (for soloists, chamber music, orchestra, ensemble, choir, concert band, big band, etc.) have been premiered and played in Vienna, Madrid, London, Ghent, Zagreb, Las Palmas, San Sebastián, Cuenca, Málaga, Tenerife, Brazil, etc.
Gonzalo has conducted his own works to the Nouvelle Cuisine Big Band (Vienna), the Atlantic Art Ensemble and the Gran Canaria Big Band.
He has been also Professor of Composition and Film Scoring at the CSMC (Spain) from 2007 to 2016.
